Every pilot starts on the ground… but perhaps we leave too soon! Staying in touch with the ground-handling connection for paragliding is another overlooked tool that can set us up for greater success and an in-depth understanding of how our gliders behave. Ground-handling is essential for each step of progression as it allows us to build base-technique and understanding in a safe, redundant environment, before practicing on the launch, in-flight or during a landing procedure.

Pilots who practice ground-handling have more confidence on take-off, in-flight and during landings, because they have a greater connection and understanding of their wings. When we manage our gliders with ease, we open up more opportunities to learn and fly, allowing for faster progression with more confidence, understanding and safety. Win-win!
